Stephen Charles Androsko

10-26-1924 to 10-11-2012

Steve loved fishing, hunting, music, politics, science, history, animals, reading, swimming, grapefruit in orange juice, horses and racing, rainy days and the Rogue River. He loved the mysteries of his Catholic faith.

Stephen was the youngest of 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He was an excellent, joyful and pure soul who took care of his beloved parents, brothers, and especially his sister during her prolonged illness of many decades. He was a legal guardian to his niece and took that duty with lots of humor, love, and ice cream. A confirmed bachelor, he was too busy helping people, fishing, and doing things to get married.

He also loved measurements and served as a draftsman for Boeing after getting his AA at Pasadena City College. During WW11, he also served as a draftsman in the Army Air Corp. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the WW11 Victory Medal.

He took excellent care of his health and that served him well into his 80's when his body finally started to wear out with one thing after another. He was courageous dealing with the humilities of illness his last 3 years. Determined not to complain or be crabby, he had a joke or a ready smile many times a day. He endured. His last moments on earth, his almond shaped eyes opened round and wide as if to see something amazingly beautiful. He left this earth holding hands with his niece knowing he was loved in this world and the next.

We all know he's gone fishing.
