Steve Stavros Alex, 81, of Normal, passed away at 5:06 A.M. on August 30, 2011 at Advocate BroMenn Medical center in Normal.
He was born October 14, 1929 in Nestani, Tripolis Greece, the son of Stavros and Helen Alexiou.
Steve is survived by three daughters; Helen Alex of California, Mary (Ray) Gurrola of California and Voula Alex of Oklahoma, two sons; Patrick Alex of California and Gus Alex of California. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Anthony Rivera, Raymond Macias, Raymond Gurrola, Michael Gurrola, Marina Gurrola, William Magee and Jessica Magee, one great granddaughter Myrical Alexiou and one sister Demitria Trakas of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parent's one brother Christopher Alexiou and one sister Georgina Goudanis.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Friday, September 2, 2011 at Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Community Church in Normal, A visitation will be held the night of Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Burial will take place following services at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Father John Brown will officiate.

Our deepest sympathy to Steve's family. Steve was a patient in our clinic from time to time. Once we had him figured out we honed our bantering skills to their finest. He appreciated that and he would be smiling and ready for more. He will be missed.
