Steven Andrew Moore (1947 – 2017)
Steven Andrew Moore, 70, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on February 20. 2017. He is survived by his wife, Karen and sister, Barbara.
Steve was one of a kind. He larger than life; kinder than kind. He and his wife, Karen, married in 1968. Together, they opened Aqua Zoo, Mandarin's first aquatic and best known pet store. Steve also ventured into real estate at Jacksonville Beach, which enabled him to mentor and encourage countless agents in town.
His generosity was known best to those closest to him. He assisted families who were financially challenged. True to his character, Steve did not boast or seek recognition for his gracious acts.
Steve spent his life close to the water and was a master fly-fisherman. He enjoyed children, treated them with respect, and taught them the catch and release fishing method. Cap'n will be especially missed by Mason and Dean, who were like grandchildren to him.
Steve was a skilled at air-brush art, though his talents as an artist stretched far beyond air-brushing. He started expressing himself through art as a child and created intriguing paintings, pencil sketches and much more throughout his life.
Steve often traveled to Daytona Beach for Bike Week, where he would enjoy the sights and sounds, the camaraderie, and the chance to ride free.
Steve's people skills were unmatched. No one could tell a story as well as Steve, and for this he will be missed, but these stories will keep Steve's memory vibrant as time goes on.
Steve Moore was so loved by his family as he sincerely loved them, especially his sister, Barbara, and her daughters Aimee, Ashley, and Alexis. Barbara remembers how fun it was being his little sis, and how he always made everyone laugh -- even in his last few days and years.
