Dear Barb, Eric, and Dane. We have just heard about Steve's passing and I wanted to express my sincere sorrow and sympathies to you. Steve will always be a wonderful memory for us when the boys were younger and playing baseball at Bond Park. His unique sense of humour and his love and devotion to his sons were always inspiring. He has left a wonderful legacy with Dane and Eric and I know how proud he was of them. Our thoughts are with you. Love, Nicky, Mike, Josh and Adam.

Steve & I first met when I work with KPMG IHQ Amsterdam. Steve had the ability to be both professional and entertaining at all times and at the same time. Wolfe is one of those 'characters' that will bring a smile each and every time he is remembered.

Condolances to all family and loved ones.

To Steve's family, I met Steve for the first time in London and immediately connected with him. He was the sort of fun person you meet every so often (not often enough)and know you have a friend. I only regret that I wasn't playing golf during my years with KPMG, or I know I would have had a game or two with Steve. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss, Jim Carney from south of the border.

I worked for Steve at KPMG (then Peat Marwick) in the 1980's. I remember when Steve would come out to the job to review files and he would not sit in the quiet office we found for him – he wanted to be in the conference room with all the team. Steve would engage the person whose work he was reviewing in an intense conversation, sometimes about the audit issues in the file, sometimes about baseball, or a story about his kids, and suddenly the whole room would be focused on Steve expounding passionately on some topic or another. He always gave honest feedback, good or bad, but without judgement. I always liked working for him. My sincere sympathies to the Wolfe family,

The world of risk management and independence in large public accounting firms in Canada is a much better place because Steve was a part of it. It was great knowing and working with Steve. Rest in peace, good man.

Barb, my deepest sympathies to you, Eric and Dane on the passing of Steve. As you know, he was a dear friend from the time we first met in Toronto, and he will be sadly missed. The times we spent playing in the CA softball league, and with the "Huskies" are some of my fondest memories. He will be surely missed. All our love,

Pat and Arlene Goggins (Windsor, ON)

Steve, a great collegue, always a pleasure to work with. We found we were more alike than not, this New Yorker and him the Canadian. He always had a smile, enjoyed talking about his sons and baseball and was a good friend to spend time with especially after grueling KPMG meetings. He liked to remind me how great Canada is and that it was much more than the "blue spot" on the map above the US. He leaves us to soon. Ed Smith, KPMG US Partner, retired. (Westfield, NJ, USA)
