BRIGGS, Stewart Sutherland – 87 of Dartmouth passed away on April 30, 2017 in the Parkstone Enhanced Care. He was the son of the late Harry and Florabelle (Sutherland) Briggs. Stewart worked for CBC for over 40 years. He flew planes, was an avid sailor and a ham Radio operator. He enjoyed travelling down south, entertaining and cooking for friends and family especially at his cottage. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Dorothy (Powell), sons; Michael (Sherry), daughter; Suzanne (Marc Desgagne), daughter in-law Carolyn , granddaughters Ashley and Emma Briggs, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son; Robert and brothers; Ronald and Robert. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10am in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 199 Windmill Road. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Alzheimers Society Nova Scotia.
