Mrs. Christensen passed in the comfort and serenity of her own home on July 29th, 2014 at the age of 69 in Novato, California. Susan is the beloved wife of Kevin Christensen.

She is survived by Kevin Todd Christensen, her husband of 25 years; daughter Kirsten Ann Leath (Arthur); son Kirk John Fagergren (Anne Julian); sister Sandra Solwick; and five grandchildren Evan Matthew Kelly, Jacqueline Jean Dickson, Colin Scott Dickson; Lacy Bella Leath, and Arthur Kelly Leath IV.

Susan was born in Sierra Madre, California on March 13, 1945. She graduated from Pasadena High School in 1963. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences in 1986 and Masters of Arts in Career Development at JFK University in 1988. Susan married Kevin Christensen on May 5, 1989.
She worked in Vocational Rehabilitation and volunteered for many social services organizations. Susan was fervently dedicated to child advocacy and empowering women providing them with inspiration to improve the quality of their lives.

Susie was a bright light to everyone she met and will be remembered for her infectious laughter and enthusiasm for life. She was happiest when swimming in the ocean or strolling the beach in fresh sea air. Her passions included creative writing, water color painting, tending her garden and roses, and most of all being with her family and friends. She was heroic in her attempts to overcome the stress and strain of her illness and maintained her positive attitude and strength until the end. She touched the hearts and souls of the people in her life and she will be missed very much.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, August 18th at Valley Memorial Park in Novato, California. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice by the Bay in Marin County.

"It's hard to believe it's been a year since Susie left this earth. What I wanted to focus on was the 69 years she gave love and joy to her family and..."
