SUZANNE ELIZABETH KING ALBERS, 63, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, March 4, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas to R.G. and Dorothy King on Friday, December 12, 1947. Suzanne lived with great strength, courage, and passion to her family, friends, and community. She was reared in Grand Prarie,Texas before graduating from Sam Houston State University in 1969 and became a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. SUZANNE ELIZABETH KING ALBERS, 63, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, March 4, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas to R.G. and Dorothy King on Friday, December 12, 1947.

Suzanne lived with great strength, courage, and passion to her family, friends, and community. She was reared in Grand Prarie,Texas before graduating from Sam Houston State University in 1969 and became a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. She continued on to earn her Masters in Education in 1972.


Suzanne relocated to Houston in 1969 and began teaching the 4th grade at Westwood Elementary in the Spring Branch School District, a position she held for 7 years. While in Houston she met her husband, Kenneth at St. Luke's Methodist Church. The two married in 1972, and have two children, Erin, 31, and Laura, 27.

Suzanne has been an active member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for 31 years. She was also heavily involved with both the St. Francis Episcopal Day School and Episcopal High School communities. She devoted her time and energy to her family and children. For the past 12 years, Suzanne was the receptionist in her husband's medical practice, touching countless lives.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth, of 38 years; her daughters and their spouses Erin and Nick Hendon of St. Louis, MO and Laura and David Linton of Newport Coast, CA; her brother and his wife, Les and Carolyn King of Kingwood, TX, and their two children, Jeff and Joanna King and daughters Avery and Carly of Chicago, IL,and Ginifer and Jason Ruge of Los Angeles, CA; and her brother Larry King of Atlanta, GA.

Suzanne's family would like for you to join them at her visitation from 5-8pm on March 10, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00am on March 11, 2011 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Simmons officiating, followed by a light reception. Please send any flowers to Memorial Oaks funeral home or donations may be made to MDUMC Mission Outreach.
