Suzanne Joyce Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2010.

On August 13, 2010, Suzanne E. Joyce lost her long and courageous battle against cancer. Sue passed away at her SW Portland home. Sue was born on February 4, 1965 in Saint Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of Charles and Mary Jane Joyce. After moving with her family to Beaverton, Sue graduated from Aloha High School and the University of Oregon. Sue worked as a system anlayst at Con-way.
Sue will be remembered for her love of the Gorge, her pets and Hood River. She supported the Arts, local music, animal welfare organizations and the Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association. As with many in the NW, Sue enjoyed biking, hiking and the occasional "sun quest."
Besides her mother, Sue leaves sisters Cheryl Reichenbach (Glenn), Janice Joyce (Robert Monniere) and her nephews David and Carl Reichenbach (Scarlet) plus many cherished friends and co-workers.
There will be a celebration of Sue's life on Tuesday, August 17th at 10:00 am at Saint Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic Church (4112 SW 6th Avenue Drive, Portland). Father James Kolb will celebrate a funeral mass followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to: Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Asociation or the Lymphoma Society.
Arrangements under the direction of Pegg, Paxson & Springer Funeral Chapel, Beaverton, OR.

Sue, I will truly miss you. I am heartbroken that I learned belatedly that you lost a battle you fought so hard for so long. I loved you and will miss our lunches together. No matter how far apart we worked, we managed to get together for lunches. I wish I had not lost contact. I've lost a true friend. My heart goes out to your loved ones.

Sue, I will miss you so much. I wish I had not lost contact. I treasured the lunches we had together even when we worked miles apart. I truly loved you and it breaks my heart to learn belatedly that you lost the battle you fought for so many years.

Dear Sue Bee, I feel so blessed to have had those hours with you picture framing at Chrisman's. What a wacky bunch we were. Through this struggle I have always been in awe of you. So upbeat, kind, fun... your quirky voice...saying you are an inspiration is an understatement. Love and peace to you, Dorte
