She was born at Orchardville, Illinois January 18th, 1919 a daughter of Dr. John and Edna (Tibbs) Hawkins. On December 11, 1937 she married Virgil G. Ellis at Sims, Illinois and he preceded her in death March 27th, 2006. She was a member of Providence General Baptist Church in Johnsonville, Illinois and was a homemaker, mother and farmer. Survivors include a daughter Hilda (Charles) Smith of Johnsonville, Illinois, son Brent (Rhonda) Ellis of Cisne, Illinois and daughter in law Lillie Ellis of Portage, Indiana and sister June Powless of Cisne, Illinois and 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, husband 1 son and 1 daughter 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Thursday February 16th, 2012 at the Providence General Baptist Church in Johnsonville, Illinois. Friends may call at the church from 9AM till Service time on Thursday. Burial will be in the Cisne Cemetery, Cisne, Illinois. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday February 15th, 2012 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
