T. Lynn Davis, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 12 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. The Reverend Stewart Lucas officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, May 16 at 2 p.m. (CST) at Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace, Tennessee. The family requests that donations be made to Bethsalem Community Chapel, 205 Knob Creek Road, Wartrace, Tennessee 37183 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Mr. Davis was born on September 6, 1922 to T. Lynn and Kate Davis of Wartrace, Tennessee. He spent the first 15 years of his life in Wartrace and moved to Macon, Georgia with his parents in 1937. He attended Lanier High School. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard for 37 months and served in World War II. He attended Mercer University. He became a self-taught auctioneer and recognized as one of the foremost auctioneers of the south. In 1950, he married Julia Ann Tanner of Franklin, Tennessee. They have three sons, T. Lynn III, James T. and Matthew D. His wife and sons supported him in business which included owner and operator for 40 years of Middle Georgia Dealer Auto Auction. In addition, he is in his 67th year as President of T. Lynn Davis Realty and Auction Co. Inc.

He acquired the land for the Ingleside Baptist Church as a founding member and served on its first board of deacons.
His business led him to several official positions across the country – former President of the National Auto Auction and a board member of the Georgia Auctioneer Commission.

He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Katherine Thomas.
