APPELT, Thora Eileen (nee Harris)
Thora was born in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England on August 27, 1923, 3rd child of Henry and Louisa Harris. After a long and happy life Thora died in St. Catharines on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. She came to Canada as a war bride on the H.M.S. Queen Mary in July 1946 to join her beloved husband Mark.
Predeceased by her loving husband Victor Marcus "Mark" Appelt (2005). Survived by her 2 children Marcus (Sue) of Picton, ON and Elizabeth (Powell) of St. Catharines, one sister Sylvia Doyle and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Monday, January 3, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346). Private interment. Memorial Service at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, corner of Glenridge and Lockhart. No scented products please.
