Ted Aidman, 87, died peacefully at home on New Year's Eve. Ted was born May 3, 1924 in Akron, Ohio to Rose and Morris Aidman. He earned his B.A. from the Ohio State University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He served as a lecturer at the University of Miami and as a Consulting Psychologist in private practice in Miami since 1951. Ted was the Founder and First President of the Dade County Psychological Association, providing training, leadership and service to various local, national and international mental health associations throughout his long career. Ted Aidman, 87, died peacefully at home on New Year's Eve. Ted was born May 3, 1924 in Akron, Ohio to Rose and Morris Aidman. He earned his B.A. from the Ohio State University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He served as a lecturer at the University of Miami and as a Consulting Psychologist in private practice in Miami since 1951.

Ted was the Founder and First President of the Dade County Psychological Association, providing training, leadership and service to various local, national and international mental health associations throughout his long career.

A loving son, husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ted believed strongly in actualizing human potential through self-awareness, mutual loving and positive self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ted was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Adeline Aidman, his parents and brothers. Ted is survived by his three children, Randall Aidman, Linda Stroker and husband John, Barry Aidman and wife Karen, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

A celebration of Ted's life will be held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7 at the home of Dr. Robert Cava and Daniella Levine, 860 Jeronimo Drive, Coral Gables, Florida, 33146. Memorials may be sent to Breakthrough Austin, 1050 East 11th Street, Suite 350, Austin, Texas 78702, or to support Parkinson's or cancer research.
