Obituary

Ted R. Archambault, 95, of Homosassa, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Hospice House in Lecanto. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he was born December 24, 1918, to Edward and Mary (Downey) Archambault, as one of ten children. Edward and Mary moved to Detroit, Michigan, after Ted's first birthday and he grew up in the Detroit area. Ted was a retired member of management with Bendix Corp and moved to Homosassa 31 years ago from Detroit and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. Ted R. Archambault, 95, of Homosassa, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Hospice House in Lecanto. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he was born December 24, 1918, to Edward and Mary (Downey) Archambault, as one of ten children. Edward and Mary moved to Detroit, Michigan, after Ted's first birthday and he grew up in the Detroit area. Ted was a retired member of management with Bendix Corp and moved to Homosassa 31 years ago from Detroit and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. Mr. Archambault served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Ted also fought in the battle of Vella Lavella and during the occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1946, until Japan's surrender. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Citrus Detachment #819, West Citrus Elks Lodge, and the American Legion of Croswell, Michigan. He pursued his passion for golf through his membership with the Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club, and also held memberships with the Oak Village Neighborhood Association and North Suncoast Republican Club. Ted is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosella M. "Marie" Archambault, of Homosassa. He was preceded in death by his nine siblings, James, Lincoln, Warren, Charlotte, Marion, Mae, Shirley, Rita and Irene. A memorial service will be announced at a later date at First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa.
