Sorry to hear of this man's death! He lived a full life and accomplished much. If Jehovah can help a person who has died, I pray that he get special help. If he is already in heaven, then I hope he will receive my thanks for his work in Biblical chronology. Otherwise, I hope to see him someday in the Kingdom of God on the Earth.

Dear Dot and family,

I was saddened to hear of Ted's death. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you at this time. Ted was a sweet person. We have a wooden serving dish that the two of you sent Bob and me when we married May 28, 1964. It looks like you had May 28th as an important date in your lives together. I lived in Rockport, MA. Love to you, Bob and Jan (Cothran - John and Lula's youngest daughter) Randolph.

Ray & Karren Hull

Dot,

You and Ted were always very special to Karren and me! I always enjoyed coming to your bookstore and talking with you and Ted. My fondest memories of Ted were in preaching class ... we always started out with the infamous "Boy do I feel great!!" At first I thought it was silly! But his class totally changed my attitude about public preaching and helped me to overcome a lot of personal insecurities - making it possible for me to preach full-time for 11 years and part-time many more! His love for the lost and enthusiasm toward foreign mission (particularly Brazil) was contagious! We pray that God will give you peace that goes beyond comprehension and that your life will be filled with grace and joy! If we can do anything to help you in this time of loss ... just let us know!

Dearest Dot, our relationship began as friends when Al & I returned from the Taiwan mission field in 1981. Then we moved lived as neighbors on 7th Street in Lubbock, TX for 18 years. I remember one night after dinner in our home, Ted led prayer before you walked across the street to your house. Several times during the prayer Ted paused and you helped him with names that eluded him. Afterwards you said, "We need to pray for Ted's memory." Laughter followed from all four of us. Dearest Dot and Family,

God Bless your beautiful souls.

Your dear Husband was an inspiration to everyone he met. His smile, laugh and
kindness was a true measure of his faith in our Father. His gifts from God were contagious.

I'll never forget two lovely people that came and visited some sorry souls in Brazil. Ted's care, kindness, love and amazing laugh was such a blessing. It's a cherished moment in time that will never be forgotton.

May our Father comfort your heart and give you peace in the days ahead.

Dear Beloved Family,

God Bless your beautiful souls. May our Father in heaven give you peace and comfort at this time.

You may not remember my family and I but I can not expess what a profound spirital impact Ted and Dot had on
our family.

Ted's great big smile and care for us was beyond any
human words I'm able to express.

While we were in Brazil, he and Dot visited our humble home.
What an elated joy and comfort you all were. Ted's smile was filed with such enthusiasm, comfort and love. What a gift it was to us. But as we all know Ted, that's the way he was. A humble man, given by God such wonderful gifts of Joy, Care, Kindness and Love. He did not hold these precious gifts to himself but shared them readily to us all. How we needed him and them. He showed us many spiiual things but at present, I'm unable to share them all.

But one thing I do know, God had placed him at the perfect
time and place to give all of us a blessing by knowing him. Ted touched me by his wonderful life and I'm the one that's truely blessed.

Dot, may God continue to bless you. Know that peope like
myself have never forgotten such kindness that you and Ted have given to people like us over the years.

Matthew 28:20
"Never will I leave you"

In Him who is always faithful,
Cindy McKinney

To the family of Bro. Stewart, we want to send you our heart felt thanks for the teaching that Ted shared with us. We only know Ted through the Sunset videos. However, as with spending time with a teacher for long periods. We all feel like we know him a little bit. However, he has touched our lives and given us the word of God in such a way that we can never be the same again. Thank you and God Speed to Bro. Stewart. May peace continue to reign in your family.

Dear Dot and family, Denny and I want you to know that you are all in our prayers. we have many fond memories of Ted (and of you Dot), from our days in Sunset, going through Missions and of Denny taking charge of the bookstore ( Vickie Hysten also worked there) when the two of you made a trip back to Sao Paulo one summer. Denny loved working at the bookstore with the two of you. We learned a lot from you through classes too. We love you very much. May God surround you even more so now with the love that you have shown to us and to others through the years. Love always, Denny & Linda Sneed (of Borger, Texas).

Dot and family,

Thank you for receiving us to sing and visit in your home when we came with the young professional Bible class. Even in those difficult times, Ted's joy and love of people was so evident. In this time of readjustment and pain of separation, may the the memory of the faith that Ted demonstrated be a source of continuous joy.

"Boy do I feel great!". Ted always began our classes with us standing and shouting together that statement. We've lost a Chritian warrior but heaven has gained a new saint. He will be missed and I was blessed to have studied at his feet. Having preached for nearly 30 years I will always be grateful for all I learned from Ted. Our love and prayers to the family at this time of loss. I look forward to seeing Ted again in heaven and I'm sure he say, "Boy do I feel great!"

I have a very vivid memory of a generous Ted, father of our campus minister, Kevin, picking up the entire lunch tab for our college group of about 20 students that had traveled to Sunset from the University of Arizona. For a poor college student, this was a remarkable act of generosity further burnished by Ted's humble servant attitude. We know that he is now with his Father, in a place where there is no more sorrow or tears. Our prayers are with Kevin and the rest of the family.

February 23, 2012

Dearest Dot,
We appreciate so very much your labor of love for the Lord and your willingness to walk beside and work alongside your husband. Ted was such a wonderful teacher and example to so many. We know it has been a long, hard struggle for you both with Ted's illness. You are a special lady, Dot and Ted was such a special gentleman; a faithful steward of that which has been entrusted to us. He is at rest now, may the Lord give you strength and more strength in the coming days to deal with and come to terms with the loss and the parting.
"May the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-27)
Love always,
Bruce, Fiona & Jessica Smith
