Teddy Tetsuo Saiki, 88, of Stockton passed away June 16, 2017 in Stockton, CA. He was born February 20, 1929 in Stockton, CA to his parents Yasuburo Saiki & Shige Saiki. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, George (Shizuno) Saiki, Kay Saiki, Susumo Saiki, Barry Saiki, Mas Saiki, his sisters, Marion (Kay) Okamoto, Chiyoko (Lee) Eller and his daughter Dr. Deborah Saiki. Survivors include his wife May Saiki of 64 years, his Son Rodney Saiki (Heidi), Grandchildren, Christopher (Brittney) Saiki, Jessica, Patrick, Courtney, one Great- Grandchild, Riley, and his Sister-in-laws Misako Saiki, Kinko Saiki, Yuriko Saiki, Shoko Saiki, and many nephews and nieces. Teddy was a veteran of US Army during WWII serving in military intelligence service. He owned and operated a second hand store and hotel until the crosstown freeway relocation. Teddy worked as a purchasing agent for Merit Janitorial Supply and Stockton Unified School District. He retired from SUSD after 20 years of service in 1984. He was a member of Stockton JACL, Hiroshima Doshi Kai, the Adult Buddhist Association, Tomo No Kai and the American Legion. Teddy was very active with the Buddhist Church of Stockton, and even coached the Girls basketball team at church. He also was involved with the local little leagues as a coach. Teddy enjoyed fishing, gambling, and, traveling, but what was most important to him was attending activities for his grandchildren. Teddy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday July 8, 2017, at the Buddhist Church of Stockton, 2820 Shimizu Drive, Stockton, CA 95203, at 2:00 pm. Teddy will be laid to rest privately at Park View Cemetery.
