Teresa C. Bates of West Chenango, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in the privacy of her own home. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sue Bates and son, Jimmy Bates. Teresa is survived by her loving family, husband of 54 years James Bates, Children, Bill Trapp and Linda Crish of Chicago, IL., daughters, Wendy & Jim Fisk of Sharon, VT, Jamie Young of Phoenix, AZ., Pam Bates & Pat Lamparella of San Diego, CA., grandchildren, Jim, Bryan, Scott, Jeremy, Tamara, Tessa, Karilyn & Bryana, Stacey & Amanda, Alexandra, Brandon & Shannon, 25 great grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Teresa was a long time member of St. Christopher's Church and a retired District Director of the Girl Scouts of America after many years of service. She was also an avid vegetable gardener. She was always supporting her children in the many activities they participated in and always had a beautiful smile. Teresa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by many. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenengo St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901. Inurnment will be held in the Glen Castle Cemetery at the convenience of her family. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions in Teresa's name to the West Chenango United Methodist Church, 433 Upper Stella Ireland Rd. Binghamton, NY 13905

Jim and family I'm very sorry to hear that Terry has past away.We are all going to miss her.I enjoyed talking with her and you every Christmas,It will be very hard without her as I know as I recently lost my wife also. The good Lord will guide you through these difficult times.
