ALVARADO-BLAIR, Teresa Marie
Daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and godmother, loved so deeply by family and friends, who on January 31, 2014, after a valiant fight with cancer, passed from this earth to heaven above. Born in Mexico City on October 3, 1946, Teresa cared for and was loved by so many who were fortunate to have been blessed by her presence and by her unyielding devotion to her faith. Teresa is survived by her sons Louis and Eric Lopez, her grandchildren Marissa and Joseph, by five sisters and one brother and their spouses, by her aunts and uncles, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Maria Elena Alvarado, by her husband Chuck Blair, and by her first husband Luis Lopez.
As the elegant matriarch of her family, Teresa enjoyed gathering her family for celebrations, lunching with her friends, raising lovebirds and canaries, and shopping at boutiques. Teresa enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and visiting her family in Mexico. Teresa's generosity and selfless spirit and soul touched everyone who knew her. Teresa worked for the Employment Development Department for over 30 years and was a past president of the Manitos Club at the Samuel C. Pannell Meadowview Community Center. Following her retirement from EDD, Teresa embarked on a second career as a realtor.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers and friends, especially Carmen Lopez and Margarita Ferrer. Teresa will always be in our hearts and prayers forever.
Rosary will be on February 6, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home on 4041 Freeport Boulevard.
A Catholic mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, 1017 11th Street, on February 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Street.
