NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Teresia Gail Crenshaw Beard, 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, following a near decade-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her four children and loving mother.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Legacy Church of Christ, 8801 Mid-Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fort Worth Christian School in North Richland Hills or Foster's Home for Children in Stephenville.
She was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Amarillo to Joe and Betty Crenshaw. The oldest of 10 children, she loved her large family and cared for her younger siblings. She obtained her degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University before marrying Gary Devon Beard on June 22, 1973. She was a devoted wife for almost 32 years until his death in 2005. The true loves of her life, however, were her four children, six grandchildren and one foster grandchild.
She had worked at Fort Worth Christian School since 1992, where she served originally as a director of the after-school childcare program before becoming an office aide and eventually a computer technician for the past several years. She was loved by everyone on the campus and could be seen routinely riding her golf cart to the various buildings to serve all of the teachers and staff.
She loved her church family at Paradise Church of Christ where she served as a minister's wife from 1985-2005 and at Legacy Church of Christ, where she was a member for the past five years. Teresia had a passion for life, and an unquestionable love of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Beard; father, Joe Crenshaw; sister, Jean Crenshaw; and nephew, Tye Brazell.
Survivors: Her mother, Betty Crenshaw of Sunray; her children, Cary Beard and his wife, Erica, of Abilene, Tiffany Beard and Matt Sanders of Austin, Chiara Davidson and her husband, Travis, of Edmond, Okla., and Landrea Beard of Edmond, Okla.; her grandchildren, Kaylee and Campbell Beard, Devon Sanders, and Catch, Colt and Chenna Davidson; her foster grandchild, Shane; siblings, Angaleta Crenshaw, Jack Crenshaw, Thelma Brazell and her husband, Tommy, Kevin Crenshaw, Larresia Whitten and her husband, Lewis, Judith Brazell and her husband, Richard, Tonya Canales and her husband, Johnny, Merida Robertson and her husband, Bryan; and sisters-in-law, Gayle Driskill and her husband, Larry, and Martha Chadwick and her husband, Leon.
Arrangements under the direction of Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel, Fort Worth, TX.
