Thaddeus "Tad" Joseph Mumme passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the age of 85. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Katherine Chryssoverges Mumme, sons Stephen T. Mumme and Paul B. Mumme, daughter-in-law Rose G. Mumme, and grandchildren Raymond P. Mumme and Sarah R. Mumme . He was the son of the late Bernardine Schott Mumme and Theodore C. Mumme, Sr.; brother of the late Sister Bernardine E. Mumme, OSU , Theodore C. Mumme, Jr., Fabian S. Mumme, Sr., Ursula Mumme McShan, Lt. Raymond P. Mumme, USMC, Miriam C. Mumme, and Godfrey J. Thaddeus "Tad" Joseph Mumme passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the age of 85. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Katherine Chryssoverges Mumme, sons Stephen T. Mumme and Paul B. Mumme, daughter-in-law Rose G. Mumme, and grandchildren Raymond P. Mumme and Sarah R. Mumme . He was the son of the late Bernardine Schott Mumme and Theodore C. Mumme, Sr.; brother of the late Sister Bernardine E. Mumme, OSU , Theodore C. Mumme, Jr., Fabian S. Mumme, Sr., Ursula Mumme McShan, Lt. Raymond P. Mumme, USMC, Miriam C. Mumme, and Godfrey J. Mumme; brother-in-law of Rosemary B. Chryssoverges and Johanna E. Chryssoverges, and the late Eva Klopf Mumme, Joyce Guidry Mumme, Clyde G. McShan, Sr., Theophile C. Chryssoverges, and John W. Chryssoverges; also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Mr. Mumme was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, a WWII Navy veteran, and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA with a BS Degree in Physics. He was employed for many years as an aerospace engineer for Boeing on the Apollo Lunar Landing program and for Lockheed Martin on the Space Shuttle program. A parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, he was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Knights of Columbus. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of River Ridge for the past 51 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street at N. Scott, on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 12 noon. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until Mass begins. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum at Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Masses or donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St Matthew the Apostle Parish are preferred. Condolences may be expressed online at www.schoencanalstreet.com
