BERRIER, THELMA R., age 88 of Knoxville, went home to the Lord and her waiting family on Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born in Dandridge, Tennessee on March 20, 1924 to A.R. (Ross) and Myrtle Rodeffer. She was a graduate of Knoxville Business College and lived most of her adult life in Fountain City, which she dearly loved. She loved to work in her yard and her flowers until her health necessitated her move first to Elmcroft of Halls and then later to Brakebill Nursing Home where she was residing at the time of her death. BERRIER, THELMA R., age 88 of Knoxville, went home to the Lord and her waiting family on Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born in Dandridge, Tennessee on March 20, 1924 to A.R. (Ross) and Myrtle Rodeffer. She was a graduate of Knoxville Business College and lived most of her adult life in Fountain City, which she dearly loved. She loved to work in her yard and her flowers until her health necessitated her move first to Elmcroft of Halls and then later to Brakebill Nursing Home where she was residing at the time of her death. The family would like to thank each facility for their loving care of Thelma. She was a member of French Broad Church of the Brethren in Dandridge and also attended Central Baptist of Fountain City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kennedy Berrier and her son, Gary Kennedy Berrier as well as sisters, Lois and Pearl Rodeffer and brothers, James and John Rodeffer.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Ferguson and her husband, Bill of Corryton; sister, Dorothy Huskey and her husband, Wayne of Dandridge; sister-in-law, Vivian Lacey of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Harry "Cotton" Berrier of Pigeon Forge as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was truly loved by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday with the funeral to follow in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Ronald Wine officiating. Family and friends will meet at French Broad Church of the Brethren cemetery in Dandridge for interment at 11 A.M. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to French Broad Church of the Brethren, 3306 Brethren Church Road, White Pine, Tennessee 37890. Arrangements by Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918. Condolences may be offered at www.lynnhurstchapel.com.
