Thera Pugh Baker, 95 of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday at Canterbury Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24th at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL with Rev. Todd Sessions officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service.
Mrs. Baker was born February 11, 1916 in Notasulga, Alabama, daughter of the late John and Mattie Hood Casaday.She was retired from Phenix City Carpet Mill and member of the First Congregational Christian Church of Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Buford C. Pugh, husband Howard M. Baker, three brothers, four sisters and step-son Howard Baker.
Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Cook and husband Jack, Melanie Sessions and husband Larry all of Phenix City, AL, sister, Willie Entrekin of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, step-daughter, Betty Tomlinson and husband Tom of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted, or contributions may be made to the First Congregational Christian Church of Phenix City.
