Theresa M. Silver 82, of Maple Avenue, Keene, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2017, surrounded in love by her family, at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Keene, following a brief illness.
She was born in Troy, NH on December 25, 1934, the daughter of Wilfred and Regina (Cota) Shackett. She grew up in Troy and attended local schools.
A resident of Keene since 1969, Theresa worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant with the Keene Center Genesis Eldercare, retiring in 2006. This was a job she loved and was devoted to.
She was a longtime parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Church in Keene.
Theresa enjoyed spending her time doing jigsaw puzzles; cooking and baking banana bread; and also making her famous peanut butter fudge.
She also loved a summer pastime of watching all her grandsons play baseball. However, Theresa's greatest pastime was the moments shared with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, Cheryl L. Silver, Michael S. Silver, Robert E. Silver, Kathleen E. Twombly and her significant other, Steve Carey, all of Keene; her grandchildren, Emily Silver, Joshua Twombly, Nicholas Twombly, Jordan Twombly, Elizabeth Cyr-Silver, Benjamin Cyr-Silver, Connor Silver; a great-grandson, Isaiah Harvey; several nieces and nephews; and her good friends from Genesis, Joan Files, Sharon Healey, Anna Perkins, Terry Methuen, and Nancy Soucise. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Ernest Hugh Silver, Jr. in 1994; a son, James E. Silver in 1999; and a brother, Richard Shackett in 2015.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. A continuation of the celebration of Theresa's life will follow the burial at the family home, 174 Maple Avenue, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.

She was the best she meant a lot to me! I can't believe that she went away so quickly. She loved me the most and I admit we always had a good time at grandma's.
