Obituary

Theron C. Lindsey, 90, of Ossian, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at his residence. Born December 18, 1923, in Bluffton, he was a son of the late Theron Curtis and Bertha Lindsey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked as a traffic engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation. He was a member of American Legion Post 111, V.F.W., and the Elks and Moose Lodges. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, fishing and woodworking. Theron C. Lindsey, 90, of Ossian, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at his residence. Born December 18, 1923, in Bluffton, he was a son of the late Theron Curtis and Bertha Lindsey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked as a traffic engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation. Surviving family include his wife, Olga Lindsey; stepchildren, Michelle (Larry) Heckber, Patricia (Ben) Shaffer, Michael (Patricia) Eber, Jean Brickley, Ruby (Bill) Huggins, and Rex (Nan) Munson; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in passing by his first wife, June Lindsey; and brothers, Roger, Keith, Kenneth, Leon, and Max. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Honor Flight.
