I met Mr. Hanratty about 35 years ago when I was a Senior in High School. He is by far the nicest man I have ever met. I have so many fond memories of my time in the Hanratty household which was always hustling and bustling! He was always smiling and always had a kind word or compliment! I will truly miss his beautiful soul. My sincere condolences to his family.

Tom and my dad were friends for more than 40 years, meeting at the Country Club Managers Association. Tom and Dad became fast friends and truly loved each other. They referred to each other as "Uncle Tom" and "Uncle Louie." Two men who put family first and were perfect gentlemen, making them forever friends. Tom and Dad were big golfers traveling to Mrytle Beach for a week of golf during the winter. Tom took care of arranging the trip and driving. Nothing was ever a problem for Tom. Many years ago Dad suggested North Hills for my wedding reception. My fiancé and I met with Tom and received an incredible tour inside and outside the club. Upon insistance from Tom, we stayed for lunch in the dining room. Our wedding reception was spectacular because of a very special man, "Tom." We will miss you, but know you will be watching over all of us.

Tom and our dad, Lou Dante met many years ago through the Club Managers Assn. After Dad retired from Phila Cricket, Tom offered him a job as a bartender in the Men's Grille. Little did he know that job would last 20+ years! Their friendship continued over the years and Tom was especially kind to Dad after our mother Jane passed away, making sure to call him and take him out to golf and to lunch. Their mutual love of family, golf, and hard work solidified their friendship, despite a ten year age difference. Dementia has a grip on Dad now but just this past Wednesday, out of the blue, he said "Tom Hanratty", clear as could be. We didn't know that Tom had died a few days before. Now we know that Tom is watching over him. Tom will always be remembered as a warm, caring, happy Irishman.

Our band worked at North Hills for many years when Tom managed the banquet room. We were right out of High School and Tom took a liking to our band (Played 40's they 80's music). He was a great man to work for. He made us always feel at home at the club & made sure we were always taken care of. He was a true gentleman. Ironically my wife and I now play for our church Maternity B.V.M. and my wife will be singing for Tom's funeral mass. R.I.P. Tom!

I am so sorry to hear Tom has passed on. He has been such a source of joy for us at Club Managers Association. I looked forward to seeing him at the trade show and the scholarship tournament each year because he always brought a smile and a few kind words along with him! I only knew him for a short period of time but I know he had a tremendous impact on those who knew him over the years in the industry. Many prayers and lots of love to the Hanratty family and all of Tom's friends at PVCMA.
