Georgia & family,
I'm only writing this now because I read your request on the back of your thank you card to share thoughts about Tom.
Tom sat across from me at at a pot luck supper at St Joan of Arc about 8 years ago. While I had worked with Georgia in the Shop, I'd never met Tom....and he had me in hysterics! almost from the beginning. He told me the whole story about him meeting Georgia (and I hadn't known she'd been in the convent). He kept me laughing all evening and recognizing the love he had for her. He came in the shop one day last year (when Georgia had misplaced her car keys - he was "George to the Rescue"....with her keys AND this furry hat that looked like his hair!! I was speachless...did Tom do something different with his hair?" When I mentioned his hair, he continued promoting his "new" hair until, finally, he couldn't keep it up....but he had me in hysterics. He was gracious ,welcoming with a wonderful sense of humor whenver I met him-at his home, church, the thrift shop and he adored his family. He was the BEST!

Our deepest condolences to your family and friends. We just want to say how much Tom & Georgia Hawko meant to us at a time when we didn't really know any family on the Hawko side. We were stationed on the Cape in the mid 1990's with the Coast Guard when Georgia was mistakenly notified about something (same last name, Hawko) and looked us up. We visited Tom & Georgia and had a wonderful family reunion with each get together. We are thankful to have known Tom, and ask for God to continue to bless Georgia and their family.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to your family at this difficult time. Tom was a great man who was a model to all of his younger cousins. He also reminded me of my father, whose faith and family was so important to him.. Love you Georgia and my prayers will be with you. Mary(Hawko) Ambrose

Georgette,
Your Dad IS a Hoot! We are Going to celebrate his life always!
Tom's gracious and humble way was an inspiration to me and my family. We always had so much fun around him. He lead by example, showing how simple actions can benefit others in a big way, especially, with his activities in retirement... when so many choose to slow down... he sped up!
I wish you and your family the peace you need now knowing that your Dad has " Gone Home " and that the best memories of his life sustain you for the rest of yours.

Dear Georgia,

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Tom was so wonderful to my dear friend Don MacFaden; after a medical appointment, he would usually take us on a "magical mystery tour", which Don enjoyed so much.. I treasure the lovely note of thanks that Tom wrote me for the little boat painting done by his mother for Don. I'm sure Tom and Don are enjoying jokes and laughing together in heaven now.
