Thomas Cade, 91, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Creasy Springs in Lafayette. He was born on July 8, 1925, in Vigo County to Everett and Viola (File) Cade. He married Joyce Everman on November 26, 1952.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Cade of Lafayette; daughter, Vivia Lee Houck and husband Jon of Rockford, IL; son, Trent Thomas Cade of Lafayette; grandchildren, Stephan Jon Houck and wife Sydney, Elise Grogan and husband Jacob, Victoria Faith Cade, and Ellen Renae Cade; a brother-in-law, Donald Everman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Cade Underwood and husband Joe; and brother-in-law, Gale Everman and wife Darlene.
Thomas served in the United States Marine Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of operations. He operated a cutter machine for many years at IBM in Greencastle and retired when the plant closed. Thomas was a member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church in Greencastle.
The funeral is on Saturday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation is at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Thomas will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Annual African Mission Trip Fund at Dayton United Methodist Church, 7201 Wesleyan Dr., Dayton, IN 47941.
