I am shocked and very saddened to learn that Tom passed away. I met him in our first grade class in Halls Cross Roads Elementary School, in Aberdeen, MD and later we became close friends in high school. I alway hoped I would meet him again some day. He was the smartest person I ever knew. He played the trombone in the high school band and exceeded me in geometry and most other subjects as well. Tom's parents were lovely people, warm and supportive of both their sons. They had a cozy and comfortable home on a tree-lined street where they could walk to church every Sunday. I lost track of Tom when we went separate ways into college, but I was comforted knowing he was in the world somewhere doing smart things to make the world a better place. I have a picture of our 1st grade class - all 30 + of us seated in our 1952 classroom. Tom is in the first row because of his last name. I am in the back row. I would be happy to send you a copy of this old class picture if you would like. It is precious. If you email me an address, or call me, I will mail it to you wherever you are. He left the world far too soon and I am grieving along with you. He was a very special friend.
