Thomas Clarence Collins, Jr. COLUMBIA – Thomas Clarence Collins, Jr., 74, with his family by his side, passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 20, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC on November 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas C. Collins, Sr. and Gertrude Lenore Collins. He graduated from Dreher High School and was a member of the social fraternity "The Dark Horseman" where he made friendships he cherished for a lifetime. Thomas Clarence Collins, Jr.

COLUMBIA – Thomas Clarence Collins, Jr., 74, with his family by his side, passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 20, 2013.
Born in Columbia, SC on November 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas C. Collins, Sr. and Gertrude Lenore Collins. He graduated from Dreher High School and was a member of the social fraternity "The Dark Horseman" where he made friendships he cherished for a lifetime. He attended the University of South Carolina and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a Mason and Shriner.
Tommy loved working with people and over his life enjoyed making lifelong friendships at Oliver Motors, Love Chevrolet, Michelin Tire and S&K Menswear.
He loved the outdoors, hunting with his sons and grandchildren and over the past 29 years, loved living on Lake Murray boating and fishing with friends, family, and his trusty companion "Sissy". He always enjoyed an afternoon boat ride, some beach music, and little Wild Turkey and ginger ale on the side.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC and the Adult Fellowship Sunday school class. He loved his Lord, his Church, and his family and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 1/2 years, Pat (Pansy) Lashley Collins; two sons, Thomas C. Collins III and his wife Catherine of Myrtle Beach, SC and Rev. H. Brett Collins and his wife Amy of Little Mountain, SC; his loving grandchildren, Henry Brett Collins, Jr. and Caroline Collins of Little Mountain and Reed Collins, Blake Collins, and Eileen Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC.; sister, Dorothy Nimmons of Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws, Susan Collins of Albany GA, and Ginny Collins of Florence, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Mack Collins of Albany, GA and Keith Collins of Florence, SC, and his sister Mary Boland of Columbia, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chapin, SC. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel.
The family would like to thank Lutheran Hospice Care, Agape Hospice House and staff, and Kim Bates for the loving care they gave him.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church, Camp Kemo & Lasting Impressions of Children's Hospital P.R.H.
