Thomas Alexander Dickson passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 59 years. Tom was born on October 22, 1954 to Keith and Marjorie Dickson in Weyburn. He received his education and graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive High School. Following graduation he studied for his mechanic's license and joined the army. After retiring from the army Tom returned to Weyburn and worked at Nexans Canada until his retirement in 2012. Tom married the love of his life and best friend, Irene, on April 2, 1993 and together they raised their daughter Chantal in Weyburn. Tom enjoyed life to the fullest and was an avid golfer. His retirement dream was to go RVing and see what the world had to offer and he had many adventures doing so. Tom spent many years researching his family tree and enjoyed meeting many new relatives he discovered along the way. Another retirement goal was to learn to play the guitar. Tom eventually taught himself to play several tunes and was always printing off new songs to learn. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Irene Dickson of Weyburn; step daughter, Chantal Batter of Costa Rico; brothers and sisters: Barry (Colleen) Dickson of Chatham, ON, Judy (Don) Court of Weyburn, Marianne (Peter) Duncan of West Bank, BC, Peter (Laurie) Dickson of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Sam Dickson of Oxbow; special friends: Lloyd and Pat Kerowatski, Fred and Theresa Sandeski, Cliff Reaney, Mike and Jeannette MacInnis, Murray Vestby, Gord and Shirley Reaney, Rod Carol and Mel Frank, Phil and Diane Borys, Cal and Sophie Voros, Jim and Kelly Linnell as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends. A Celebration of Tom's life was held on Monday, April 28 at 11:00 AM from Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47, Weyburn with Reverend John Ferrier officiating. Irene, I'm so sorry to hear about Tom. I have only the fondest memories of him during our summers in Weyburn. He was always so generous and kind. I'll also never forget the love he showed to Gramma and Grampa whilst they were in Weyburn and after they moved back to Ontario. I know how much Tom meant to them. You're in my thoughts and all my prayers, Irene. I hope your memories can bring you comfort during this time-and that you surround yourself with love. We're sending much your way.
