Thomas Austin Fulwood
Went to be with the lord on July 23rd at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife Ann, 3 brothers, a sister, 3 sons and 2 daughters and preceded to heaven by his oldest daughter, Patricia Ann. Mr. Fulwood also knew the love of 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a number of friends. Everyone who knew him was made better in some way, he did not understand the meaning of the word "no". A man who lived his life honestly and proudly, the rock that held our family together was and is still a very loved man who will be missed forever. Visitation will be Saturday July 26th from 5-7pm with a graveside service Sunday July 27th at 9am at Hillsboro memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon.

Our hearts are heavy and we grieve, because we lost a family member that we have always held in high regard and loved dearly. I never hear him speak an unkind word, he was one never to complain, he was never one to walk away from a task, and always one to lend a hand. He was not perfect, but a very gentle soul, he was. I will never forget the good times we shared. And I will always remember the kindness and care he gave to me on June 20, 1982, as I lay gravely injured in a ditch, following a motor cycle crash, not far from his house. He came to my aid and cradled my head, holding me above the water and shielded my neck and back from the underbrush that cut into my flesh, taking the pain unto himself, so I would not feel any additional pain. He cried and prayed over me and reassured me that all would be ok, even after the ambulance arrived and I was lifted out of the ditch. He never left my side. He has always been a big man of strength, but also possessed the gift of quite tenderness. I will always be thankful for the love he showed me on that fateful day and I will miss him dearly. He will remain in a special place in my heart, always. Rest in peace my dear Uncle Austin.
