In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

Tom, I only had the opportunity to meet you once, but you left an everlasting presence. So as my Irish ancestors would say:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand."

Kristen was a very close friend of mine growing up, and Mr Tom was always very nice when I would go over to their house. I grew up next door, and for as long as I can remember, Mr Tom's dogs were a common sound on the block. He will be missed.
