Thomas Howard, 83, of Vanceburg, died Oct. 21, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.
He was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Tannery to the late Dillon and Ella Charlton Howard. He was of the
Christian faith and retired from General Motors, in Dayton, Ohio, after 30 years of service. He was
a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Kegley Howard of Vanceburg; six sons, Thomas (Renie) Howard,
Larry (Carolyn) Howard, Michael (Jaqueline) Howard, Steven (Gloria) Howard, Jeffrey (Terri) Howard
and Dane Howard, all of Vanceburg; two daughters, Jeanie (Woody) Britt of Vanceburg and Donna
Howard and companion, Jim Henson of Paris; and a brother, Ervin (Panzie) Howard of Vanceburg.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mathew Howard; three brothers, Wilson, Vess, and Robert
Howard; and two sisters, Mima Walker and Alice Camron.
Services are Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Dickerson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens in Vanceburg. Military graveside rites
will be conducted by the VFW Monte Lewis Stamm Post No. 5438.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
