Thomas John Hughes, age 81, passed away on November 3, 2013 in West Covina, California. He was born on April 16, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a teacher and lived in the area for 59 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elk's in Glendora, VFW 8620 and American Legion Post 755. He was proceeded in death by John and Evelyn Hughes and brother Michael Hughes. Survived by John J. Hughes Jr. (Joanne) and sister-n-law Colleen Hughes. Thomas was loved by many nieces and nephews. He was awarded the Purple Heart in the Korean War. Services are on November 8, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Sacred Heart Church in Covina and on November 9, 2013 at 10:00 am at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights.
