I am saddened to hear of Doc Kernan's passing. He was very kind to me. A caring & generous man who served his community & profession well for many years.

April 25, 2013

We only new your Father for A year or two. Meet him at the Hickory on Brown Street. My husband and I would have a drink at the bar while waiting for a booth. Seems like I would always get the seat next to Doc. Little by little I got to know him better. He would alway have interesting stores about Dayton. And of how he would help a person who was in need of his services. But what stands out is on this last Valentines Day I gave him a card, which he Thanked me for that day. The next week sitting at the bar he said , you know that was the only card I received and I am keeping it. We left for Fl and stayed the month or March. So it was so sad to hear of Doc's passing. He was a joy to be around. We will miss him. Joan and Richard Taylor. Fairborn, Oh

I am now 47 years old, and I started going to Dr. Kernan when I was three... I will never forget going in to have a root canal at the age of 23, and I turned to look at the wall, and Dr. K still had a picture hanging up that I had drawn for him when I was in 1st grade!!! He was a wonderful person, and seemed like "family". He will be missed by so many people! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I know I will miss him a great deal.

Kathy and Todd -

So sorry for the loss of your father. I'm late finding this and electronic messaging seems odd for this, but I wanted to send my condolances. If I'd figured out earlier I would have sent flowers that would cover a winner of the race. Having just lost my father in November, I have some sense what this is like for you. I've had dreams the last few nights of our fathers sitting together with some drinks looking down on us smiling. My dad with a beer in a gator shirt and your dad with a T&T. Will never forget the Old Hic, the bets on/around black 17 in Vegas, or the many trips to the tracks. He lives on in my memories forever. He was a great man, loved by all.

Paul
