Thomas Francis Lucey (Tommy) 78, of Astoria Queens NY, passed away peacefully at Silvercrest Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation on Tuesday May 15th, 2012. Tommy was born in New York, NY on August 5th, 1933. Proceeded in death by his wife Helen Lucey. Tommy was an extremely proud veteran who felt so honored to serve his country, in the United States Army. He was a retired maintenance worker for the SEIU Local 32BJ and was a very active and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. Thomas Francis Lucey (Tommy) 78, of Astoria Queens NY, passed away peacefully at Silvercrest Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation on Tuesday May 15th, 2012. Tommy was born in New York, NY on August 5th, 1933. Proceeded in death by his wife Helen Lucey. Tommy was an extremely proud veteran who felt so honored to serve his country, in the United States Army. Tommy is survived by his adoring and loving children. Robert and his significant other Karen Verdi, Deborah and Nicholas Demakakos, Joanne and Michael Torello, Cindy and her significant other Ray Francis. Cherished Grandpa "Tommy" and Opa to Georgia, Thomas and Andrew Demakakos, Kristen, Caitlin and KerryAnn Lucey; dear brother of Daniel Lucey and sister Ann Mattimore.
Funeral arrangements will be Thursday 5/17/2012 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Thomas M. Quinn & Son 35-20 Broadway, Long Island City. The church service will be Friday 5/18/12 at 10:15am at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 9th street and 27th Avenue, Astoria NY.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to SaveKitty Foundation, Donation envelopes will be available at Thomas M. Quinn & Sons Funeral Home. For more information on the SaveKitty website and phone number please contact the funeral home.
