Tom Touchet, 78, of Palm Bay passed away Sunday evening at his home in Palm Bay after a valiant battle with Cancer. Tom was a native of Baltimore, Maryland before he came to reside in the Palm Bay community in 2002. Tom had a long career as a Longshoreman at the Ports of Baltimore before he retired. Prior to Tom's career, he was a veteran serving in the Seabees in California. After relocating to the Palm Bay community, Tom became a valued member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where he had been a very active member as well as voluntering in many of the Church Ministries activities. Tom was also a valued member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Elks Lodge where he continued to volunteer in their many community activities throughout the years. When not involved in any organizational activities, Tom enjoyed spending time with his friends in activities such as bowling, or more importantly, which restaurant the lunch or dinner get togethers were to be held. Afterwords Tom would spend his evenings at home watching his favorite programs while taking care of his beloved pets.
Tom was a widower, predeceased by Agnes. Tom is survived by his daughters: Sondra and husband Steve Guire of Buckhannon, WV; Denise and husband Lowell Thompson of Baltimore, MD; and son "Murf" and wife Rene' Schweiger of Baltimore, MD; Tom is also survived by his four grandchildren: Reba, Michael, Stacy, Ashlyn; in addition to his six Great-Grandchildren: Maryah,Dani,Davon,Gabriel, Kandi and Lexi. Tom was also survived by his step-children: Frank and wife Karen Duncan of Baltimore, MD; Bev and husband Scott Anderson of San Diego, CA; and Tommy and wife Donna Touchet of Baltimore, MD; three step-grandchildren Wendy, Eric, and Thomas; four step-great-grandchildren: Danny, Carlie, Noell and Veronika.
Friends of Tom and his Family may call at the Fountainhead Funeral Home, Sunday, September 29th from 3 pm until 7 pm, where there will be services following conducted by the Knights of Columbus in addition to the Elks Lodge during the Wake service beginning at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 30th. beginning at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Rd SE, Melbourne. Entombment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay.
