Timothy Kriske Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 8, 2017.

Timothy John Donald Kriske passed away peacefully at the age of 57 in Plano, Texas, on May 7, 2017 after a brief, but brave battle against pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving children as he joined The Lord at 9:51 that Sunday morning, 51 days after first being diagnosed. For those who knew Tim, 51 has always been his favorite number, and he would have found it fitting.

Tim was born in Columbus, Nebraska on December 12, 1959 to Stanley and Anne Kriske. After living in Ohio and Arlington Heights, Illinois, his family moved to Leawood, Kansas, where Tim would call home. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1978, and went to Kansas State University, earning a Bachelors of Marketing. He was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, where he forged several life-long friendships. Two weeks after graduating from KSU in 1982, he married his high school sweetheart, Beth Fenton, and started his family. Beth and Tim were married for 21 years and continued to be close friends throughout the rest of his life.

In early 1983, Tim was successful in attaining a job with Hallmark Cards, where he would work for the next 15 years. He was the one of the first employees be a five-time winner of the R.B. Hall Award for Sales Excellence. He left Hallmark in 1998 to become VP of Operations for Monarch Dental, eventually becoming COO. He married Gail Venburg and embarked on a new chapter of his life. He then acquired Willow Bend Roofing from a neighbor, and developed a successful company built upon professionalism and integrity. In 2009, he got back into healthcare by accepting the role of President and CEO of Sleep Centers of Texas and Alaska. While Tim enjoyed helping people by working in healthcare, the travel demands of Sleep Centers kept him away from the family he loved, leading him to rethink his career and what legacy he would leave behind.

In the fall of 2011, with the help of a close circle of trusted friends he met throughout his career, Tim founded TMS Neuro Solutions, and a few years later Smart Neuro Health & Wellness Centers. His mission was to reverse the rising suicide epidemic in America by changing the delivery of behavioral health, and his passion and drive were contagious to all who worked with him. This vision is the foundation which guides his thriving company now, and will continue to do so long after he has gone.

Tim is survived by his children, Katherine, John, Joseph, his son-in-law James Fitzgerald, his grandchildren Aidan and Abigail Fitzgerald, his former wives Beth and Gail Kriske, and his siblings George, Kenneth and Christine. He will be laid to rest next to his father, Stanley, and his grandparents John and Agnes Krzeszewski in Duluth, MN.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Tim's honor to one of his favorite local charities listed below:

Tim was a larger than life guy when I knew him in High School. I was two years behind him and one day he just walked up to me and said, "We're going to lunch". As a sophomore I didn't have open lunch or a car and he said, "I've got a Trans Am, we'll go to hardees". So Tim and I started hanging out at lunch. He had this kind of infectious confidence. I happy I knew him them and saddened I never got to say good-bye. - Stuart

We, unfortunately, did not get the chance to meet Tim but having spent time with his son, John, we believe we know the very special person he was to so many. Our deepest sympathy to the family and all those who's lives were touched by Tim. As our daughter, Rachel, stated in her note, Tim loved his family fiercely so there's no doubt that he will be their guardian angel in the years to come.

Tim, my only regret in knowing you since Indian Creek Jr. High, is that we didn't get together more often down here in Texas. Peace to your family.

John told me so much about his dad early on in our relationship, so I knew just how important he was to him. I remember being so nervous to meet Tim for the first time - but I'm thankful he always welcomed me into his home with open arms. I noticed at once how he loved his family so fiercely. I'll never forget the joy ride we took together in his Corvette one of the first few times I came over to his house. It was a quick but special memory I'll keep forever of just the two of us racing through Plano and feeling so alive. I wish I had more time to spend with him, but I know his love, passion and determined spirit will live on through John, Katherine and Joe.

I've known Tim since 1960! He was my oldest friend and even though there would be years gaps between visits, that hardly seemed to matter.
My prayers to your family. Frankly, Tim probably does not need a prayer from me, as he is probably up in heaven right now telling dirty jokes to St. Peter - but I will send him one anyway.

I met Tim five years ago when he started TMSneurosolutions. I thought he was very intense and I was not sure he could do what he promised. Boy was I wrong. Over the years I became friends not only with him but also his family and his team. He always did what he promised. I will miss him.

We were neighbors in the 1990's and our families grew up together. The Kriskes became good friends. Tim became my best friend as we went to Cobra shows, worked on our homes and took care of our families. It's very sad to hear that my best friend is gone...We love you Timmer.
