Obituary

Timothy John Walgren, born August 1, 1947, passed away on January 3, 2014 after a long illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, of 32 years, his mother, Margaret, his daughters, Betsy (Bobby) Erwin of Vermont, Jill (Alex) Stansbury of Idaho Springs, CO and son, Brent Wuethrich of Evergreen, CO; brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Walgren of Fenton, Missouri; William (Suna) Walgren of Doraville, Georgia, Stephen (Lynn) Walgren of Hansville, Washington; and seven grandchildren. Timothy John Walgren, born August 1, 1947, passed away on January 3, 2014 after a long illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, of 32 years, his mother, Margaret, his daughters, Betsy (Bobby) Erwin of Vermont, Jill (Alex) Stansbury of Idaho Springs, CO and son, Brent Wuethrich of Evergreen, CO; brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Walgren of Fenton, Missouri; William (Suna) Walgren of Doraville, Georgia, Stephen (Lynn) Walgren of Hansville, Washington; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Eugene Walgren, and his grandparents W.E. and Myrtle McElveen and John and Gertrude Walgren.

He was a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School and attended the University of Denver on a music scholarship. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Education and Geology. He did some teaching after graduation, then served his country during the Vietnam War in the Chaplain Corps.

Tim's major career contribution was as a materials purchaser for Alumax and Alcoa Aluminum Refineries. His position took him all over the world from Switzerland to China. He also served as project director for the building of an aluminum plant in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

One of his passions in life were music-- specifically singing. Previously he sang with the Evergreen Chorale and the choir at Evergreen Lutheran Church. He also was an active member of the Dorchester Presbyterian Church during his time in South Carolina, serving as an elder and singing with their choir.

His other passion as skiing and he loved skiing in the Rockies, France, Switzerland or wherever there was powder.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on January 19, 2014 at the Evergreen Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm, located at 5980 Highway 73, Evergreen, Colorado 80439.

Thank you to the many friends and family who spent time with Tim and Linda during his protracted illness.
