Obituary

Tom Arles Cotton, age 90, of Hermleigh, died Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, in an Abilene rehab facility. Services will be at 2 PM Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with Revs. Danny Williams and Mike Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunn Cemetery with military and masonic honors under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Arles was born January 10, 1924 in Scurry County to Damon L. and Annie L. Webb Cotton and had been a lifelong resident of Mitchell and Scurry Counties. Tom Arles Cotton, age 90, of Hermleigh, died Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, in an Abilene rehab facility. Arles was born January 10, 1924 in Scurry County to Damon L. and Annie L. Webb Cotton and had been a lifelong resident of Mitchell and Scurry Counties. He married Joy Feaster on May 11, 1944 in Colorado City. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1999. He was a farmer and rancher, a veteran of the US Army during WWII; a member of the Baptist church; a member of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge 563; member of the Suez Shrine Temple in San Angelo; as well as the Big Spring Chapter 67 Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Vickie Whitson of Hermleigh and Sareta Fenton of Lubbock; a son Tommy Lee Cotton of Hermleigh; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; as well as his special friend, Frances Godwin of Colorado City.
The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
