Obituary

Tommy Martin, 67, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, in his residence. He was a native of Graham, Texas and had been a resident of Starks for the last 42 years. Tommy was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, having received the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from P.P.G. Industries after many years of service as a pipefitter. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Starks and the Masonic Lodge #364 in Vinton. Tommy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Tommy Martin, 67, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, in his residence.

He was a native of Graham, Texas and had been a resident of Starks for the last 42 years. Tommy was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, having received the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from P.P.G. Industries after many years of service as a pipefitter. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Starks and the Masonic Lodge #364 in Vinton. Tommy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Casburg Martin of Starks; his two sons, Robert "Charly Bob" Martin of Starks, and Neil Martin and wife, Jodi of Las Vegas, Nevada; his father and mother-in-law, Charles A. and Margaret Casburg of Starks; two siblings, Wanda Barnett of Graham, Texas and Terry Martin of Haltom City, Texas; and two grandchildren, Ryan Martin and Cameron Martin of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ophelia Martin.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, in First Baptist Church of Starks. The Rev. Jaceson Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Doyle Cemetery in Starks under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Starks on Monday from 5-8 p.m. and will resume in the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
