Tracy Rita Theriot DesRoches born in White Castle, Louisiana passed away on November 8th 2017 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of Jules Evans DesRoches for over 70 years, she chose to follow him closely with only one day separating their deaths. They shared a room at a local nursing home and would have it no other way. Mother of Donna DesRoches Berger, Dennis Jules DesRoches (wife Marlene), and Wade Thomas DesRoches (wife Karen), grandmother of four Eric Berger, Zoe Berger Hall, Todd Berger, and Suzannah DesRoches and great-grandmother of four. Tracy was the daughter of Claiborne Theriot and Olive Marie Hymel Theriot, and sister to Murrel J. Theriot, Sadie Theriot Cancienne, and Myer J. Theriot.
Tracy was a graduate of White Castle High School and moved to Marrero soon thereafter to start work, living with her aunt. She met and married Jules in 1947 and they started a family. Tracy was an energetic woman and worked proficiently meeting household demands for a family of five and participated in Mothers Club activities at her local church/school parish. She particularly enjoyed creating with her hands through needlepoint, crochet, and sewing and was recognized as an excellent seamstress, helping others with their projects when needed. Once Jules retired, they enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Canada, and she continued making handicrafts, with creations for family, friends, and charities. Family and friends are encourage to attend services Monday November 13th at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home located at 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00am for family, and 11:00am for the public. Mass will begin at 1:00pm in Westside's chapel, with a graveside service to follow at Westlawn Cemtery.
