Trinidad Saenz Alarcon was born in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Felix Saenz and Apolinar (Bustillos). A beautiful little girl born on June 30, 1918. Trini never knew her parents, her mother, Apolinar, died of influenza 6 months after giving birth to Mom (Trini) and her father, Felix, struggled trying to raise 5 children. Soon after his wifes death he left the children with different family members to be raised. Mom and her brother and sisters were all separated. Mom was raised by an Aunt and Uncle that lived in El Paso, Texas. When Mom was 13 she met Manuel Romero Alarcon, 4 years her senior. They communicated only through hand written notes for 3 years. On February 2, 1935 Mom & Dad took courtship with one another. On August 27, 1939 Mom & Dad were married in Las Cruces New Mexico. Mom remembered paying $50 a month for rent. They lived in El Paso, Texas where Mom gave birth to 7 of her children, Manuel, Frances, Amelia, Felix, Robert, and Alicia. In 1953 Mom and Dad moved to Azusa, California where Sandra was born. Trini was a devoted wife and mother, a Proverbs 31 lady. Mom volunteered at several Senior Centers, a combined total of 18 years in California, New Mexico, and Texas. Mom was a true pioneer woman, she never turned down a person in need, nor a chance to be of help. Her children, family, and friends all loved and respected her. Mom had the kind of personality that drew people to her. Never an unkind word was spoken by her. She was an inspiration to all her children, grand-children, (and great- up to 5-6 generations) and all will miss her dearly.

"Grandma ever since I was little I would hear wonderful stories of you and I always wanted to be with you and to see you! I'm sorry I was never able to be..." Franchesca Sanchez "Alarcon" (Benson, NC)
