Tristan Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 9, 2016.

Tristan Murdock Johnson, 19, was involved in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, September 25, 2016. He fought bravely at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California for 12 days before joining our family and Father in Heaven on Friday, October 7, 2016.

Born on April 3, 1997, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Steve and Kathy Johnson, Tristan lived and died fiercely and courageously. His love for life kept him at the center of our hearts and at the edge of this world. He gave freely to everyone he encountered, and he died with the same kindness and generosity we all know and love. Tristan passed on his strong, fighting spirit, but also several major organs to those in need. Multiple people are alive through the strength, love, and generosity of our boy. Nothing makes losing him any easier, but we take solace in his courage and try to emulate it every day. We love you more than words, Trat. You're in our hearts and souls always.

Tristan is preceded in death by his grandfather Herbert Murdock and grandparents John T. and Vi Johnson as well as uncle Tom Johnson. Tristan is survived by his loving family: parents Kathy Murdock Johnson and Steven Mark Johnson, sisters Jordan and A'na Johnson, brother Micah Johnson, grandmother Verna Murdock, aunt Patsy Murdock Cagle, cousin Laurie Edwards, and family friends Siobhan Cooke and Samantha Salazar. Tristan was also blessed with many extended family members and an ever-expanding family of friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Cason Monk-Metcalf with Rusty Poe officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery.

Tristan was so deeply cared about by his co-workers at Moon Valley Nursery in Escondido... he touched many people's lives and hearts. I never even met him in person, but my partner, John Allen, worked with him every day and talked about his wonderful nature and lively exuberance quite often. This is a loss which is far-reaching. I send love and light to all of his family members and friends. God bless you Tristan - you will be remembered.

LORD, thank you for the open air, the feel of wind blowing through my hair;

Just me alone upon my bike, the thrill of freedom's what I like.
To wind through country unexplored, not knowing what I'll see next LORD;

That's what I seek when off I ride,

I'm thankful that you're by my side.
If I should ride 'til morning's light, please keep me safe throughout the night;

And when I've come to journey's end, It's you I'll thank - protector, FRIEND

-Author Unknown

Tristan has found his journeys end and he is now with his Lord and protector.

We wish to express our heart felt condolences.
