I can imagine the day to day struggles that are happening at your house these days. Please know that my prayers are that my son Hunter greeted Tristan with open arms.

At night I look up to the stars at Orion-a great mighty hunter of ancient times-and imagine that is where the boys hang out to watch out for us in the night.

Dear family of Tristan,

Thank all of you for the privilege of allowing myself and others the opportunity to know Tristan through the beautiful and touching video of Tristan's life.I must admit prior to viewing the video my thoughts were, here was a young persons life cut so short that he hadn't barely started to live his life. On so many levels this is true but after viewing the video I discovered how much Tristan was loved and his life enriched by so many friends and family that actually there was a lot of living packed into this little guys life in so few number of years!

Please accept my most sincere and heartfelt condolences for your and the worlds loss of such a beautiful human being. Although I did not know Tristan, the tragic news of his death and circumstances surrounding his passing hit too close to home for several reasons. Perhaps I will have the opportunity to share those with you someday.

In spite of Tristan's untimely death I still believe that our society has made great strides in curbing the act of bullying but CLEARLY there is still much work to be done. I would like to think that I could be apart of that mission by someday becoming an advocate for you and in memory of Tristan.

For now, the time calls for all of you to begin walking the long and difficult road of closure, acceptance and healing.

Once again, my heart goes out to all of you and may peace soon be with you.

Sincerely,
Gary A. Houdek
Duluth, MN

I was a student teacher at Lincoln Park middle school two years ago. Tristan was in my sixth grade choir class. He never failed to make me smile. Whether it was telling me random facts like the scientific name for ketchup or pretending to ski while he sang he brightened my day on more occasions than I can recall. He was a wonderful student and I remember him with only the greatest fondness. I am truest sorry for your loss.

Tristan was a very adorable and rambunctious young man and I will forever miss our pillow fights and our wrestling matches that I have only won once. Which is really sad. He beat me and I'm 35 years old!! I'm actually very proud to say that he was able to beat me at wrestling. His Uncle Blaine taught him well and Tristan always held nothing back. I will miss his smart aleck comments that always sounded like he was mouthing off but wasn't. He will always have a special place in my heart and I know he will always watch over me and his family to keep us all safe. My family will keep Tristan's family in our prayers and will be here to help whenever needed. I love you Tristan and will forever miss you buddy!!!!
