Tristan Bartlett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 7, 2013.

Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend Tristen Luis Bartlett of Houston, Texas, known to his family by various nicknames, was called to the presences of our Lord at the tender age of 13, on Friday the 4th day of January 2013 in a skiing accident on Copper Mountain, Colorado.

Luis was born April 25 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is survived by his Mother Karen Bartlett, Father Hank Bartlett, older brother Kirk Donavon Bailey-Lopez, and the rest of his extended family.

He is the only blonde, blue-eyed grandchild of the bunch. He loved video games and spending time with his cousins and his daddy. He was a typical teenager, other than liking school work and his love of math. He didn't like chores, but because of his gentle character, he humbly resigned in obedience with a sigh.

He was an adrenaline junkie in training. He would always get up and dust himself off after every fall with a smile. He was sincere, loving child concerned with everyone's welfare before his own. He was grateful for all the small tokens of kindness he received from anyone.

He just loved being around his family and enjoyed outdoor activities, even though he suffered from asthma, leg pains and food allergies.

He will be greatly missed by all and the void he leaves in our lives can only be filled by his loving spirit in Christ.

It's been two years sweetheart. I still have no words. Just pain. Seeking for a reason to continue living each day without you in it is truly hell on earth. Enjoy Heaven my chunky monkey!! I'll be there as soon as I can. Love you forever.

I loved seeing the pictures of Luis and his family. He had love in his life and it is reflected in his expressions. He loved both his parents. He was a happy child. Jesus said, "If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also." John 14:3
Thank you for sharing your love and memories with all of us so that we can keep those pictures in our hearts as we pray for you and your family.

It's been a month now and the pain is still fresh. You still manage to pop up in minds as much as you did in life. Love you papa…always will.

Nothing is sadder than the passing of a child. No words are adequate to express my feeling of sadness and concern for Tristan and his family. He was certainly an admirable young man who will always be missed and remembered with love.

I am Tristen Luis Bartlett's aunt, there are no words to describe the depth of loss his family is feeling. We all feel true comfort in reading the condolences offered here on this site. It is amazing to see the comments by complete strangers even, I very deeply appreciate this. I especially want to thank Diane Riolo from Colorado, unknown to our family, who sent beautiful flowers to the service. I have attached a picture of them.

So sorry to hear of your loss. There is really not much that can be said or done in times like this to remove the grief, but we here in the San Antonio area grieve with you. If there is anything I or we can do, please don't hesitate to ask.

Tristen, your sweetness, shyness and innocence will never be forgotten. Nor those dimples and that huge smile! Your beautiful soul is in a wonderful place now but you will live here on Earth in the hearts of each of us who were blessed to know you. Thank you for your friendship and all that you shared with our family, of which you were a part.

Luis, my dear friend who I will never forget. I want you to know there is a place in my heart that you will always have a part of, even though I was with you for only the last few minutes of your short little life. I will forever be connected to you and I will always have an un-describable bond with you and your Father. You were not alone, I picture so clearly your Father holding your hand and being at your side immediately after the accident. I was the stranger holding your other hand when you left us to meet the Lord.
I am praying for your family. I love you Luis, I will never forget you. XOXO

I am a stranger to you, but I want to let you know that many people are praying for comfort for everyone who knew and loved this boy, especially for his family. Close friends of ours also lost a 13 year old child in a sudden accident about 15 months ago, so I understand (a bit) the anguish of your loss. May God sustain you in these difficult times.
