Ubald "Bob" LaFrance, age 87, of New Bedford, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in St. Luke's Hospital. Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Henry and Bernadette Victoria (Fisette) LaFrance, he had been a lifelong resident of the city.
A graduate of New Bedford High School, he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving as Corporal during World War II. He was a painter for 40 years and belonged to the Painter's Union Local 691. Mr. LaFrance was a member of the Acushnet Grange.
He is survived by one sister; Jeanne LaFrance, one brother; Evariste "Bill" LaFrance both of New Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Roland and Joseph LaFrance and Clarisse Picard.
At his request no services will be held. Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.
