Vada Augugliaro, 88, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at a local nursing facility.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, in Elmwood Memorial Park with Arlon Baize officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Vada was born December 23, 1923 to Charlie Meads and Rebecca Laura Jones Meads in Chatfield, Texas. She married Joe Augugliaro and was a homemaker. Vada previously lived in Michigan for 40 years before moving to Abilene, Texas. She could always make people laugh. Vada was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Augugliaro (November 28, 1997); one son; one daughter; one grandson; and two brothers.
Survivors include her sister, Ann Scarbrough of Abilene; her brother, Jim Harwell of Arlington, Texas; and a niece, Dian Granberg and husband, John of Amarillo, Texas.
Memorials may be sent to the donor's charity of choice.

Ann...i loved Ms. Vada with all my heart...i have to admit she was my favorite resident and it breaks my heart to see her pass..but i know she is in a better place now, looking down at us....yelling " Bingo".....or trying to win at bowling on the Wii.....she will always be in my heart always and forever
