Born 2/5/15, passed away peacefully at home on 8/2/14 in Louisville, KY. She was born in St. Clair, MN, the oldest daughter of George H. and Lydia G. (Courrier) Hubmer. She was educated in St. Clair public school and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. In 1934 she married Leo C. Weyrauch and made her home in Minneapolis for 38 years, later moved to Wisconsin, then Florida and finally to Louisville, where she lived with her daughter. Valera shared the management of their grocery store for 25 years before entering the retail clothing business for a number of years before her retirement. in Louisville, KY. She was born in
St. Clair, MN, the oldest daughter of George H. and Lydia G. (Courrier) Hubmer. She was
educated in St. Clair public school and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN.
In 1934 she married Leo C. Weyrauch and made her home in Minneapolis for 38 years,
later moved to Wisconsin, then Florida and finally to Louisville, where she lived with
her daughter.
Valera shared the management of their grocery store for 25 years before entering the retail
clothing business for a number of years before her retirement.
She is survived by her sons Gary L. and John C., both from Minneapolis, and her daughter
Marcia Sympson of Louisville, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, 2 great great
grandchildren, and one sister, Keturah M. Doescher. Her husband, brother and sister
preceded her in death.
Valera enjoyed many hobbies. She was an outstanding cook, seamstress, gardener, and
bridge playerenjoying
recognition in all these areas.
She was especially close to her family and was considered a devoted and loving matriarch,
who always available to give them guidance. Her knowledge was unsurpassed.
