Lucy Velma Fenwick (Brown) Lyons Lucy Velma Fenwick was born in Jasper County on February 27, 1917, to J. Frank and Anna (Wortley) Fenwick. She and her 8 siblings were raised on the farm which remained in their family for over 100 years. Velma graduated from Rensselaer High School and Indiana Business College, after which she worked at the Diamond Chain Company in Indianapolis. She married William Owen Brown and resided in Sullivan, Indiana, where she worked for the Sullivan School System as a secretary. Lucy Velma Fenwick (Brown) Lyons

Lucy Velma Fenwick was born in Jasper County on February 27, 1917, to J. Frank and Anna (Wortley) Fenwick. She and her 8 siblings were raised on the farm which remained in their family for over 100 years.
Velma graduated from Rensselaer High School and Indiana Business College, after which she worked at the Diamond Chain Company in Indianapolis.
She married William Owen Brown and resided in Sullivan, Indiana, where she worked for the Sullivan School System as a secretary. Following her husband's death in 1962 she returned to Jasper County and later married Alford M. Lyons. They lived in Brook, IN. and New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a bridge player extraordinaire and golfed until the age of 80.
Velma's priorities in life were her love and support of family. Her positive attitude, wisdom, and strength of spirit were an inspiration to all.
Velma was pre-deceased by husbands William Owen Brown and Alford M. Lyons; Son William Owen Brown, Jr., Parents; siblings and in-laws; Edith (John) Ferguson, Opal (William) Campbell, Ferne Fenwick, John (Edna) Fenwick, Charles (Ardis) Fenwick, Mary (Joe) Swartz, Betty (Joe) Padgett, Frank Fenwick; Step-sons and wives Roger (Selma) Lyons and Jon (Kay) Lyons.
Velma is survived by her daughter Susan (Lee) Stewart, Cloverdale, IN.; daughter-in-law Jane Brown; grandsons Ian (Sarah Freeman) Stewart, and daughter Nia; Josh (Valerie) Stewart, and sons Harrison and Wesley; Aaron (Helen) Brown; step grandchildren: Garrett Lyons; Steven ( Jessica) Lyons, and sons Levi and Dustin; step granddaughter Alison (Darren) Lyons, and daughter Muryon; sister-in-law Marvel (Frank) Fenwick; special 'niece' Nancy (Jeff) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana on August 9th.
Memorials can be directed to the Putnamville United Methodist Church.
