Obituary

PAGE, Velma Jean (nee Kelso) Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on Friday, June 22, 2012 in her 82nd year.  Survived and lovingly remembered by her husband George of 61 years.  She will be dearly missed by her children Neil , David and Mary Beth, Diane Reidy and Bill, Brian and Becky, as well as ten grandchildren.  Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Smith.  Velma was a 52 year member of Burkholder United Church.  A retired employee of Duthler Textiles, and a long standing member of the UCW, Hilltop Quilters and Calorie Counters.  She was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting and...

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on Friday, June 22, 2012 in her 82nd year.  Survived and lovingly remembered by her husband George of 61 years.  She will be dearly missed by her children Neil, David and Mary Beth, Diane Reidy and Bill, Brian and Becky, as well as ten grandchildren.  Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Smith.  Velma was a 52 year member of Burkholder United Church.  A retired employee of Duthler Textiles, and a long standing member of the UCW, Hilltop Quilters and Calorie Counters.  She was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting and was an expert seamstress.  Her preserves were award winning and she made the best butter tarts and hermit cookies.  Thanks to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice staff and the many friends, family and neighbours who brightened her day with a card, visit, phone call or e-mail.  Special thanks for the extraordinary care and compassion provided by Dr. Adrian Hornich. Visitation at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Burkholder United Church, 465 Mohawk Road East, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:30 am.  Internment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Donations in Velma's memory may be made to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice.
